Donna’s Kombucha Starter
This is a live kombucha scoby and 1 cup of starter liquid. I highly recommend getting a live kombucha starter (one that has been used actively and isn’t dehydrated). I really want you to be successful and if you have my starter, I know you will. This starter has been made with a combination of green and black tea and I find this combination the most bubbly. If you take care of this starter it will last through your lifetime and then you can pass it down to your children and all of your friends. Remember you will get a new scoby and starter liquid each time you make it. You will never run out and then you can share the kombucha starter love!
I only ship on Monday‘s – this ensures they don’t sit in the post office for the weekend. Please watch for them and don’t leave them in your mail boxes for hours on end. The heat and freezing temperatures can damage them and even kill them.
A kombucha starter culture, which is a scoby and a cup of starter liquid, consists of yeast and bacteria existing in a symbiotic relationship. Simply add brewed tea, sugar, and water and allow it to ferment for seven to fifteen days.
You will then have a kombucha tea beverage that has most of the sugar removed and is a naturally carbonated drink. Kombucha tea is better for you than any carbonated drink on the market and is packed full of B-vitamins and probiotics.

These will be shipped in a plastic package. You should remove them from the plastic and store in a glass jar with a lid on your counter until ready to use. Please watch for them and don’t leave them in your mail boxes for hours on end. The heat and freezing temperatures can damage them and even kill them.
It’s best to use them within a month of receiving them to keep them active, healthy, and ready to make years worth of kombucha. Keep them away from heat and direct sunlight!

I only ship cultures Monday‘s. This is to ensure that they get delivered as quickly as possible.
Don’t let your starter culture sit in your hot mailbox over the weekend if you happen to go out of town or something. Your starter culture will die if left in the heat.
