Coconut Water Kefir Saffron Lemonade

Saffron is actually the dried stigmas (tiny threadlike strands) of the crocus flower (Crocus sativus). They are hand picked, and you only need a tiny bit as saffron is very strong and has many benefits. Saffron is known to help with depression, asthma, arteriosclerosis, cancer, and known to offer menstrual relief. Many people do not know the many health benefits that can be gained from using a small amount of saffron.

  • With a mortar and pestle, grind 3/4 teaspoon of saffron threads into a fine powder. Add about 1/2 cup of Coconut Water Kefir into the mortar and pestle to gather the possible remaining saffron powder.
  • Mix in the remaining Coconut Water Kefir.
  • Add your lemon juice.
  • Add 1/2 dropper of liquid stevia (if desired) and whisk all ingredients.
  • Ice and enjoy!
  • Store the remaining mixture in the fridge in a glass vessel or jar.
