Strawberry Kefir Soda

Strawberry Kefir Soda

Strawberry kefir soda is one of the best tasting kefir sodas. I make kefir sodas three different ways with three different starter cultures. In this video I use my favorite method, and its the one I use most often. This one uses an extract from fresh strawberries, so you have extra on hand to make more soda.

This is probably one of my favorite flavors of kefir soda. It’s pretty too! I show you different methods in all the videos I make, so you can choose what is easiest for you. I have done them all and enjoy teaching others to find the ways that suit them.

when you are making the strawberry extract for the Strawberry Kefir Soda, and you leave the strawberries and sugar for 12 hours, do you keep them in the fridge or out on your worktop?

    • Out on the counter. Good question. I will put this is the recipe to clarify it.

        Thank you!
My Strawberry Kefir Soda has been on my counter culturing for 3 days and is not fizzy yet. Kitchen is not over warm. How long should I wait to see if it is going to work or not?

        • Give it at least 5 days sometimes it takes a little longer when its not warm. Did you use the powder culture packages or kefir whey? Kefir whey takes longer.

            I used a powder culture.

I have also just made up a bottle with some kefir whey I had left over from making kefir cheese. I’m interested to see which one I prefer.
Thanks for your quick response to my questions Donna.

ok..since I am using the whey instead of the package..can I still use 1/3 to 1/2 to keep making more or do I need to use the main extract each time to make the soda?

I am gluten and caesin sensetive. Can I still get the benefits without the milk? What would I be able to do?

    • You can also make coconut or almond milk kefir made with coconut milk and receive many benefits. They are made the same way as regular milk kefir you just use coconut milk or almond milk instead. I posted a video on my membership about this very thing. Water kefir is good to but the benefits are not as many in water kefir as milk kefir, be it coconut almond or dairy. still good but the benefits are more in the milk kefir.
